Divorce and Dissolution of Civil Partnership 

A divorce or dissolution will formally bring your marriage or civil partnership to an end.

It may be necessary to consider financial and children issues surrounding your relationship breakdown. 

Separation 

Some parties may not wish to consider divorce proceedings immediately and may prefer to formalise their decision to live separate and apart.

We can assist by drafting a Deed of Separation. This document approved by both parties can regulate any agreed financial settlement, providing a degree of security for both parties into the foreseeable future.  

If you do eventually decide to commence divorce proceedings then you may rely upon this agreement to conclude financial matters often making the process simpler and less costly.  

Financial Resolution

Cohabitee Disputes and Agreements

It is now much more common for couples to live together choosing not to marry. If a cohabitee relationship then breaks down you cannot rely upon the same legal principles as married couples which can result in uncertainty.

It is rare for couples to take legal advice about their rights before they cohabit. By entering into a Cohabitation Agreement you make formal your financial arrangements during the time you live together. Such an agreement can then also govern what would happen if your relationship came to an end providing certainty for both parties at the outset.
