Cohabitee Disputes and Agreements
It is now much more common for couples to live together choosing not to marry. If a cohabitee relationship then breaks down you cannot rely upon the same legal principles as married couples which can result in uncertainty.
It is rare for couples to take legal advice about their rights before they cohabit. By doing so, and entering into a Cohabitation Agreement, you make formal your financial arrangements during the time you live together. Such an Agreement can then also govern what would happen if your relationship came to an end providing certainty for both parties at the outset.
If a dispute has already arisen then we are happy to advise you on your legal options.
