Bake Off!
Today was the day of the Penmans Great Bake Off, our annual event to try and raise funds for those in need. We are full of cake but extremely delighted with another successful day!
First, we must say a huge ‘thank you’ to the organisers Judy Schmid, Stephanie Napier and Shelley Dundee. Secondly, a thank you for their hard work to all of staff who helped on the day and contributed delicious treats for everyone to enjoy.
But most of all we want to say a huge “thank you” to our professional colleagues, guests and friends from outside of the office who came along on the day, supported our efforts and gave most generously.
Year on year, we are astounded by the support we receive for the Coventry Family Court’s nominated charity. This year we are helping “the Buddy Service”, via Coventry and Warwickshire MIND.
The Buddy Service empowers young people to take ownership and look at ways of reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness. The support provided can be on a 1-1 or small group basis within the community. The young person will be matched with a buddy based on their likes and similar interests. The aim is for the young person’s self-esteem and confidence to grow and for them to feel comfortable and happy with their social life so they no longer require the Buddy Service.
Regrettably, this ground breaking project is no longer being funded, so donations are all the more important. We are pleased to announce that we raised an astonishing £515 (and pennies) and wish to thank again all those who attended (or were unable to attend but sent donations) for their generosity and support including representatives from Warwick Auctions, Eddie Ball of MPA Financial Ltd and Carl Hemmings from Ginger.
